Paula Holland

 

Natural Resource Economist (Acting Manager)

Paula has been involved in natural resource economics over ten years. She worked first as a fisheries economist for both the Australian government and the English University of Portsmouth (cemare) and later as an environmental economist with the Australian government's economic think tank, the Productivity Commission. Paula brings expertise in a number of areas including marine resources, biodiversity management and public policy development.

  

 

Steve Menzies

 

Community Communications Specialist

Steve has extensive experience in media, marketing, and public relations, in both the private and public sectors.  In New Zealand he worked with the Ministry for the Environment to promote action on key environmental issues such as waste reduction. Steve joined the International Waters Project in May 2004.

 

  

Sue Le Mesurier

 

Community Assessment Participation Specialist

Sue has worked as an international programme manager in Africa, Asia and the Pacific with agencies such as the UN.  Her work in the Pacific has focused on Melanesian countries such as the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea/Bougainville, Fiji and Vanuatu. Sue is experienced in resource management, environmental impact assessment, social assessment, conflict prevention, participatory community assessment and monitoring and evaluation.

Rama Vaa

 

Project Accountant

Rama worked as an Accounting lecturer at the National University of Samoa for two and a half years, majoring in Management and Government Accounting courses. In that time, he designed and developed accounting curriculums for the accounting courses he taught. For the last two years he has been project accountant for the Health Sector Management Project, a World Bank co-funded project in Samoa's Health Department.

  

Rosanna M. Galuvao

 

Programme Assistant

Since returning from law studies in Australia to Samoa two years ago, Rosanna has developed a strong association with SPREP, particularly in respect of activities relating to the SPREP and Apia Conventions. She has rapidly developed a detailed understanding of the SAP and will provide the first point of contact for many of the Programme's participating country associates in the region. In conjunction with Steve, Rosanna also maintains this web page. She is also studying for a Diploma in Environmental Education Studies at USP Alafua.
