Post Description: Finance Officer (FO)
Background
The Corporate Services Division is responsible for the provision
of support services to the Organisation through the areas of Human Resources
& Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Information Resources
and Media & Publications.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Prepare
and process SPREP’s payrolls (Monthly and Fortnightly Salaries) – includes
making payments and reconciliations.
- Process all payments
and financial requirements for official travels;
- Attend
to other daily financial and accounting responsibilities including the following:
- Daily
cash reconciliations;
- Monthly
reconciliation of accounts payable accounts
- Processing
Purchase Orders
- Accountable
advances reconciliations
- Verification of payments and maintenance of all relevant financial records.
- Ensure
all relevant data is entered into the ACCPAC accounting system – account codes
must be verified in accordance with established financial guidelines.
- Assist
in the following areas:
- Preparation
of financial reports
- Reconciliations
of banks and general ledger accounts
- Responding
to general financial queries from staff
- Other
duties assigned from time to time
Required Qualifications and
Experience
Essential
- Minimum
qualification of a Diploma in Accounting or relevant discipline from a recognised
institution (a University degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage)
- At
least 2 years work experience in accounting and financial management;
- Good
communication and inter-personal skills with a high command of spoken and
written English;
- Demonstrated
ability to meet work plan deadlines with limited supervision.
Highly Desirable
- Hands-on experience in
computerised accounting systems and Excel worksheets;
- Experience in an inter-disciplinary
and multi-cultural environment..
Basic
salary ranges from SAT$22,080 p.a. to SAT$33,120 p.a. depending on qualifications
and experience. Other attractive staff entitlements such as medical benefits,
