Topic: Guidelines for Greening Events in the Pacific
In 2019 and 2023, the Pacific games set out to have an environmentally sustainable event. This took an impressive amount of coordination by all players involved including the local and regional organizing committee, and local and visiting athletes, officials, coaches, everyone involved in the games. The Waste management and Pollution control team at SPREP will present some of the amazing results of this work and the key lessons and best practices to guide future Pacific regional events.
