SPREP has 26 Member countries, 21 Pacific Islands Countries and territories and 5 metropolitan countries.

There are currently 19 parties to the Agreement: all 14 Pacific island countries and the 5 metropolitan countries with direct interests in the region. 

A territory cannot be a party to the Agreement however it may participate in SPREP Meetings with the authorisation of the country responsible for its foreign affairs (art.3.1 of the AES).
