The latest issue of the Climate Change Matters newsletter is out now.
This issue is a special one, as it pays tribute to the former Director of the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme's (SPREP) Climate Change Resilience (CCR) programme, Dr Netatua Pelesikoti. Dr Pelesikoti was the Director of CCR from 2012 to 2017. Prior to that, she was the SPREP Programme Manager for Pacific Futures from 2009 - 2011. She passed away on 11 November 2020 in her home country of Tonga. ..
Ms Tagaloa Cooper, the current Director of CCR, acknowledged Dr Pelesikoti as a trailblazer in her field, adding that the Pacific has lost a great champion of our people. She will be remembered by the Climate Change REsilience Programme as a fierce protector of the Pacuific familty and advocate for Pacific climate change issues.
