New website for SPREP
General News

A new online look for the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) was launched on World Ocean’s Day in celebration of its 25 years of service throughout our Pacific region.

A new website will be in action for www.sprep.org as of 8th June, 2018 featuring both a new look and advanced features.  The design of the website is the culmination of feedback from surveys and usage of the current SPREP website.

“We are very pleased to be able to deliver improved services for our Members, this new SPREP website is just one way that we have listened to the needs of our Members and partners and have aimed to meet these in our new and improved website that we are launching during the celebration of the 25th year since our establishment as an independent intergovernmental organisation,” said Mr Stuart Chape, Acting Director General of SPREP.

The new website design takes into account smartphone and smaller screen usage, as well as additional functionality that allows for increased sharing of stories on social media.  This means there are more ways to share stories and an improved content search.

Other notable aspects of the new website also include its ease of use with a new and improved layout for easy navigation, web accessibility features and faster page loads.

“We are of course mindful that in these very early stages there may be some issues experienced by users,” said Mr Chape.

“We apologise in advance for any challenges you may come across such as broken links to articles and we ask that you report these to our developers by using the “Feedback” button at the bottom right page of the website.”

As SPREP irons out all possible glitches in the new website we also ask if you have any key points you wish to bring to our attention that you email [email protected] as the organisation continues on working to improve your online experience with SPREP.

SPREP is embarking on a wide range of activities to celebrate and commemorate their 25 years in 2018.

Should you have any further queries on the new website please do not hesitate to contact [email protected]
