Description
The Pacific Fund has been established for the purposes of supporting meteorological operations, enhancing the availability of observations worldwide and protecting life and property in the Pacific region.
The Fund is used for (UKMO Met Office) authorised support to observing programmes, installation and upgrading of meteorological equipment, ongoing operational expenses including consumables, staffing costs (in NMSs), and support visits to assist
Pacific Islands meteorological services through advice, training and maintenance. The two PICs which are supported by this fund are Kiribati Meteorological Services and Tuvalu Meteorological Services which currently host two upper air stations.
