How we work together at the COP for our One Pacific Voice to be effective.

Susana
There are many areas to be negotiated during the COP30 in Belem of which there are 13 thematic priorities for the Pacific Small Islands Developing States to be negotiated at COP30. Given this is a vast negotiations field happening at the same time, the PSIDS Parties work together to keep everyone informed.

To undertake this, each negotiations area has a team of negotiators from across the PSIDS that work together which is led by a Pacific Islands Party. They are also shadowed and supported by a CROP agency for which some themes consist of both a lead and a support CROP Agency, or just a lead CROP Agency member.

PSIDS Coordination is how the Pacific Islands Parties strategically plan for, and undertake, their negotiations. This involves all leads coming together regularly throughout the negotiations to update their counterparts and seek guidance where needed. This way, the full Pacific Small Islands Party delegations are kept well informed of what is happening in each of the 13 thematic priorities.

This coordination mechanism is chaired by the Chair of the Pacific Small Islands Developing States, currently Tuvalu, with the support of SPREP.

The Pacific Islands Parties also coordinate with AOSIS, which meet twice a day to update the full AOSIS Parties which consist of 39 small island and low-lying coastal developing states.

Some of the Pacific Island Parties are also members of the G77 and China, and LDC groupings within the UNFCCC process.
