30 October 2025, Apia, Samoa – The countdown is on towards the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP30 in Belém, Brazil from 10-21 November 2025. Pacific delegates attending the global climate conference will have a home away from home at the Moana Blue Pacific Pavilion and the Pacific Delegation Office.

Established at COP24 in 2018 and spotlighted as one of the most active Pavilions at the climate conference, the Moana Blue Pacific Pavilion is an important platform that empowers and amplifies the one Pacific Voice and showcases their climate change stories on the global stage.

This year, the Moana Blue Pacific Pavilion will host more than 80 side events coordinated by Pacific Island governments, private sector, civil society, academia, CROP agencies and partners, with 15 of these events involving Pacific leaders, Government Ministers and High-level representation.

“The Pavilion was developed with our Pacific people at the heart of its mission, to be a space where we share about the lived realities of our communities in the fight against climate change on the international stage,” said Ms Tagaloa Cooper, Director of Climate Change Resilience at the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP).

“Here, our people can talk about what lies beyond the commas and brackets of the COP process. We interact with our leaders and negotiators and bring to life our challenges, our stories of resilience, and our Pacific hopes for better quality of life despite the growing impacts of climate change.”

In addition to the Moana Blue Pacific Pavilion at COP is the Pacific Delegation Office. A dedicated space for Pacific delegations to hold daily coordination meetings and bilateral meetings during the COP negotiations.

Each year, the Pacific face a mammoth task at COP with smaller delegations and limited resources, having a dedicated space where delegations can collaborate as a united group with One Pacific Voice increases opportunities for the region at negotiating tables.

The Moana Blue Pacific Pavilion and Pacific Delegation Office are managed by SPREP, in partnership with the Governments of New Zealand and Aotearoa.

“Our One Pacific Voice at COP is critical for the survival of our frontline communities, and the Pavilion and Pacific Delegation Office ensure that this voice is strengthened and amplified during the COP. With that, I express my gratitude to the Governments of New Zealand and Australia who have ensured these spaces are available for Pacific people this year in Belém”, said Ms Cooper.

The Moana Blue Pacific Pavilion and Pacific Delegation Office are located in the Blue Zone. The Pavilion is 150sqm, with dedicated spaces for side events and networking.  Side events will start at 10am every day with hosted evening events on selected days.
