Advancing Climate Health and Equity Outcomes through Local Action in the Indo-Pacific, Tuesday 28th May 2024, 10:00am - 11:30am, Room 7
The health impacts of climate change in the Pacific will be extensive yet there has been limited cross-sectoral engagement with climate-related health considerations in many Pacific countries. To address the need for cross-sectoral responses to climate-related health impacts, The Pacific Climate Change Centre and the University of Melbourne developed and delivered a training program on climate, health and equity to a cohort of 15 fellows policy makers and researchers from the Pacific and Southeast Asia.

Bringing together leaders, program designers, partners and SIDs representatives, this panel session seeks to demonstrate and share on the impacts of climate change on health in SIDs.

The multiple benefits of gathering an interdisciplinary, cross-country cohort to learn from one another on core components of successful climate decision-making for resilient development.

The session will also present case studies from Fellows across the Pacific on the application of their learnings and outputs upon returning home (video recording).

Resilient Prosperity through Pacific Islands Solution and Genuine Partnership - Weather Ready, Wednesday 29 May 2024, 8:00am - 9:30am, Room 11
The background and history of the Weather Ready Pacific is well known to Pacific Islands Met Services, Pacific Islands Forum Leaders, and Pacific Islands partners - however the amplification of this Pacific - led innovative solution to resilience challenges ahead, can be enhanced. The UNSIDS4 Conference is an ideal space to do so.

Strengthening the Pacific Environment Portal and National Environment Portal for better Environmental Decisions, Wednesday 29 May 2024, 10:00am - 11:30am, Room 3
Effective data management is crucial for informed decision-making and evidence based policy development in the Pacific. The Pacific Environment Portal (PEP) developed by the Secretariat is a comprehensive platform that empowers users to collect, catalogue, visualize and share environmental data in the Pacific at the regional and national levels. This event will feature presentations from SPREP member countries and its partners on the benefits and features of the PEP, including its role in supporting national, regional and global reporting obligations.
