This job exists to:

• Support SPREP’s resource mobilisation efforts by implementing activities under the Partnerships Engagement and Resource Mobilisation Strategy (PERMS) including coordinating the function of the Partnership Review and Resourcing Group (PRRG) Secretariat.
• Develop promotional; outreach; and capacity-building materials to strengthen collaboration with donors and partners.
• Coordinate partnership-related information by maintaining the partnerships database and providing updates and briefings on activities and outcomes.

• Provide technical advice for the protection of the marine environment by preventing, controlling, and mitigating pollution from various sources.
• Support the planning, design, development and implementation of robust programme and project proposals and plans, aligned with strategic objectives and member needs.

    Lead the Hazardous Waste  Sub-Programme Team

    Provide strategic, policy, and technical advice to SPREP Members to support their priorities on hazardous waste management.

    Provide oversight management of large long-term hazardous waste projects implemented by SPREP.

•    Lead the Threatened and Migratory Species (TMS) Team

•    Provide strategic, policy, and technical advice to SPREP Members to support their priorities on threatened and migratory species 

•    Provide oversight management of large long-term TMS projects implemented by SPREP

This job exists to:

•    Lead the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Work Programme and Team including the development of the Pacific Islands Regional Framework for Nature Conservation Protected Areas.

•    Provide strategic, policy, and technical advice to SPREP Members to support national and regional priorities for conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity and ecosystem management.

•    Lead the establishment and management oversight of the Regional Technical and Scientific Centre for the Pacific region providing services to the region.

 

This job exists to:

•    Provide strategic advice and expert guidance and support to SPREP and its member countries on integrating environmental, social, and economic considerations into their programmes and development, aiming to achieve long-term sustainability by balancing economic growth with environmental protection and social equity.

•    To assess sustainable development actions and initiatives  within SPREP programmes and identify areas of improvement and approaches that can be applied to effectively strengthen sustainable development programmes within  SPREP and  members in line with the SPREP Strategic Plan and Regional Frameworks such as the 2050 Blue Pacific Strategy.  

 

This job exists to: 

•    Oversee all financial management, budget and accounting requirements including related Finance support functions

•    Monitor the Cash flow and financial records for all bank accounts and fundings (Core and Projects)

This job exists to: 

•    Provide technical, administrative and coordination support in the implementation of the second phase of the Sustainable Waste Actions in the Pacific (SWAP2) Project

•    Strengthen capacity building in young professionals and support a youth network across the region that mobilises Pacific youth engagement in environment decision making at the regional and global level; 

•    Promote SPREP work and regional environmental issues and priorities.
